Forum Rugby Club - 2009-2010 Season

Posted by: JWM on 10 July 2009

Well it's just about mid-July; the Lions have been, been cheated, and gone; so it must be time to start thinking about the new season. Smile

Lots of new faces in most GP clubs, plus of course Leeds now. (Cockers running Leicester, Deano running Quins, Backie running Leeds - these Tigers get everywhere! Winker) And of course Tigers are looking forward to giving out the usual mauling, but this season with a brilliant new stand and a new home kit (to be launched on 24th July). Sorry Sharlene, I'm spending my clothing allowance on that, not some bloomin' Naim T-shirt...!

IRB starts to get a grip on quality of international refereeing (at last)!

Marius Jonkers demoted; Chris White dropped altogether, after their poor perfromances in Six Nations.

Shame Bryce Lawrence wasn't among them, but it's a start.

Referees have got to be more consistent in their decisions, and spot some of the persistent blatant enfringements they are currently missing.

A great game from the Tigers this afternoon beating Bath 43-20 with another bonus point for the fourth try, although they did start to give away to many penalties in the second half

Well done to Wasps this afternoon but they were helped by the ref within the first four minutes with a penalty try that never was
penalty, yes
yellow card, yes
try, not a cat in hells chance
they were saying on the commentary that the Wasps player should be up for an oscar Roll Eyes your man was never going to score that try it would have been over the back and out before he could have got it.
Still Bath are still within taking fourth place so time will now tell the outcome of season Big Grin

Shhhhh!! Of course I have no doubts! We will be at Twickenham and if Tigers manage to struggle their way there, we will enjoy pushing their noses into the hallowed dirt!

Not sure, JWM's got the tickets, but wherever it is we'll get a good view of Wasps lifting the trophy.

I'll buy you a beer after the game, but it'll need to be a taller glass than normal so it doesn't overflow with all those tears!

M49 R66 298-300 (or 305-307 - depending on which set we give to my son and his mates). So, not too far from DL and a great spot to see Hamilton and Tuilanga going in at the corner.

So George Skivington leaves Wasps to advance his career and become a Tiger at the end of the season
Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

I turned 40 on tuesday Frown and thought that a season ticket was coming my way from the mrs but got a stalking holiday in Dumfries and Galloway instead [which i enjoyed ]and the mother in law bought me a ticket to see the Tigers take the Sarries apart in a couple of weeks Cool

So another sterling perfomance by the Tigers this afternoon taking apart the Falcons with four trys (bonus point) in the first half. Quins next then sarries
and then lift the cup at HQ Big Grin Cool Big Grin
Posted on: 19 April 2010 by JamieWednesday
So Sarries in the play offs for you then?

"...and then lift the cup at HQ"

Would that be the cup of broken sorrows once again..? Having failed to overcome Wasps in the final (who would have buried The Saints in the play offs in the mean time...)

Mate the Wasps are hanging on to fourth place by the skin of their teeth with Irish and Bath on Wasps heels.Time will tell my friend, bring it on Big Grin

No cheap jibes from me. Cos when all's said and done, it's a bit alarming for all of RU, which is generally not that well minted.

Wasps have been threatened with a winding-up order by the HM Revenue and Customs over an unpaid tax bill of more than £1m ($1.5m)
