Forum Rugby Club - 2009-2010 Season

Posted by: JWM on 10 July 2009

Well it's just about mid-July; the Lions have been, been cheated, and gone; so it must be time to start thinking about the new season. Smile

Lots of new faces in most GP clubs, plus of course Leeds now. (Cockers running Leicester, Deano running Quins, Backie running Leeds - these Tigers get everywhere! Winker) And of course Tigers are looking forward to giving out the usual mauling, but this season with a brilliant new stand and a new home kit (to be launched on 24th July). Sorry Sharlene, I'm spending my clothing allowance on that, not some bloomin' Naim T-shirt...!

Shame about old Venter for Saturday...

Dr V needs to prescribe himself a few anger management classes by the sounds of things.

As it should be the TIGERS retained the Guinness championship with a classy try in the dying moments.it's a good job this is typing because my throat is sore from screaming and shouting. So now it's a quick shower at the hotel and out on the lash to celebrate

Not 'alf!

Great match between two good teams. Great day out with, and meeting at last, good friends.

Thanks, James, for a great day.

I agree. It was one of the best Premiership finals for some years and in the balance up to the last minute. Six tries and some great rugby from both sides.

Tigers deserved the win for their season long dominance. I tried to stay neutral for my Tigers friends, but it burned me and I couldn't help but cheer for Sarries!

Nonetheless I am happy for my friends on here and, Paul, it was good to meet and share a beer with you. I look forward to some more banter next season when a resurgent Wasps will clearly spank Tigers arses!.

It would also be good to catch an Autumn International and be on the same side for once.

Yes, it was good to meet fellow Naim friends and have a few beers [ thanks to the Lord, Amen ] Winker
As for the latter comment change resurgent for transitional and any spanking will be of the kinky kind and obviously not on the pitch for decency reasons Big Grin

As for yesterday i stand pleasantly suprised that England beat the Baa Baa`s. I tried to find ways of listening or watching the game but to no avail Frown
But i look forward to watching the England/Aussie clashes in the a local pub Cool

Just noticed after close inspection of the photo that if you look at the third tunnel entrance then go level with James left ear a inch and a half you will see a row of four Tigers, so you were not that far away from us then Razz Big Grin

Spoke to a mate yesterday evening who was at the Tigers game and stayed over to watch the England v Barbarians game at HQ on Sunday,His view was that the BaaBaa's were a poor side and that the atmosphere was no where near as good as Saturdays affair which for those not present on the day in question was awesome Big Grin

Don't know if any of you are watching what I'm watching, but NZ v Ireland.."Dat's some scarey sh*t, man!!"

NZ are scoring at around a point a minute; 38-7 up at half-time!

And the 7 was only at the end when NZ realised they would probably win in their sleep!

Hope England fare better against the Aussies later.

It does, once again, raise significant questions about the gap between northern and southern hemisphere teams. It seems that at home we can be competitive when at our peak and they are in a relative lull, but when playing down under we are in trouble.
