Forum Rugby Club - 2009-2010 Season
Posted by: JWM on 10 July 2009
Well it's just about mid-July; the Lions have been, been cheated, and gone; so it must be time to start thinking about the new season.
Lots of new faces in most GP clubs, plus of course Leeds now. (Cockers running Leicester, Deano running Quins, Backie running Leeds - these Tigers get everywhere!
) And of course Tigers are looking forward to giving out the usual mauling, but this season with a brilliant new stand and a new home kit (to be launched on 24th July). Sorry Sharlene, I'm spending my clothing allowance on that, not some bloomin' Naim T-shirt...!

And a 3rd try for Ireland!
Are NZ even trying anymore?
52-21!

And to think that NZ is worried about being awarded the wooden spoon in this year's Tri Nations...

B***er! Are Australia better than NZ currently then?
59-21

59-28.
Well done Ireland, what a fight back!
The second half is currently 21-21!

Probably not, but the kiwis are a little concerned. This year's Super 14 has reinforced the current status of NZ Rugby vs South Africa and Austraila.
As far as the national team goes the Aussies have a great coach and some great players.
BTW - I lived in South Africa most of my life and from a rugby POV it is quite enjoyable living in NZ right now. It was hell when I first got here though

Finish. 66-28. What an incredible game; 94 points scored in a game between teams in the world top 5!
Taken out of context, Ireland would probably have been happy with 4 tries and 28 points scored in NZ!

England under a lot of pressure early on. Not looking too good.

Here we go. 1st try to Australia.

Hurrah, 3 points!

Despite all of their huffing and puffing, England seem completely unable to break down this 'inexperienced' Australian defence.
Just the scrum to rely on then.

Which earns them a try and then Australia almost immediately cut them to pieces and get one back.
21-10

And again, another penalty try, 21-17. Ugly stuff from England.

30-17. Australia far more cutting in attack. England played much better at the end.
Much as I loved Johhno as a legendary player and captain, he is no coach. I can't wait until after the World Cup and the opportunity to get someone else. This England team has talent as they occasionally show, but they are just not being coached properly and seem very unsure of themselves. They are defensively poor as well.

Looks like SA v France is continuing in much the same vein. 19 minutes gone, 17-0!

Blinkin' 'eck, it's a try fest today! 33 minutes gone and the score is 25-7, 3 tries to 1.

That's 3-0 to the Southern Hemisphere sides then.

The juniors and the saxons are doing well, the juniors are now in the final of their world cup.
I watched the first test and thought that England could have won that game but the aussies showed their flair for running the ball and the rest is history, we shall see what happens this weekend.
I did notice the aussie fans bad attitude when the goal kicking was happening

Definitely not - even the local commentators here were bemused at how many points the Irish scored.
I think the NH teams need a little more tiem to adjust to the new laws, which were used throughout the Super 14. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the international season pans out.

England win 15-9 against Aussie baabaa's
Although Bannahan cited, this makes a 3rd english player in a row to be cited, Hmm someone is being a mardy arse me thinks (could it be a Aussie)
