Forum Rugby Club - 2009-2010 Season

Posted by: JWM on 10 July 2009

Well it's just about mid-July; the Lions have been, been cheated, and gone; so it must be time to start thinking about the new season. Smile

Lots of new faces in most GP clubs, plus of course Leeds now. (Cockers running Leicester, Deano running Quins, Backie running Leeds - these Tigers get everywhere! Winker) And of course Tigers are looking forward to giving out the usual mauling, but this season with a brilliant new stand and a new home kit (to be launched on 24th July). Sorry Sharlene, I'm spending my clothing allowance on that, not some bloomin' Naim T-shirt...!

Still nine years before the Tigers..

A nice bit of history though don`t you think ???

A nation. Perhaps we can get some Forum members together to go and watch a game or two?? We should be able to. After all, we've only got six years to plan the p*ss

Sounds like a starter to me
Cool

Nothing too serious. Just had a couple of nights away from home on business and didn't phone one evening. It's all blown over now.

Saw the NZ v Springboks game today. Looks like the 'Boks have the measure of the ABs. How come there have been 2 matches in SA?

Had some great news today. The mrs rang me up this morning to tell me that because she is involved as a cub leader in Hinckley, Leicestershire scout association have offered 2 free tickets to every leader to the first game of the season. Tigers vrs Newcastle Falcons.
Absolutley spiffing yah

With the Boks beating the Aussies today I think it puts the Lions performances into perspective. I reckon they would beat both the Aussies and the ABs in a series.

Without a doubt. The boks have a game against the tigers later in the year, so that will be interesting

So the Wasps are now considering taking Quins place in the Heineken Cup if the Quins are thrown out, a change of heart there then

Am i the only one in here these days??????

Confused
Posted on: 19 August 2009 by Chillkram
Yes! It is the off season after all! Still what about Deano and all the shenanigans with the fake blood?!!

Is this the most ridiculous thing anyone in any sport has ever been banned for?!!
Posted on: 19 August 2009 by deadlifter
Maybe, but it could have changed the end result, Though to keep a man like deano out for 3 yrs is very harsh given the results he can produce

All Blacks coach Graham Henry has been critical of an over-kicking game these days.

A bit ironic, really, for a Southern Hemispherer!

Perhaps the dropping of those ELVs (so beloved of the Southern Hemisphere) which were so restrictive of creative and imaginative forward play, which only resulted in more kicking, will see a return to a better game!

Quins still in the guinness premiership then, unlucky for wasps.
According to Nick Easter they have a good chance of winning the title, when i read this it took me a while to get up off the floor and stop laughing.Still i think it is out of proportion for deano to get a three year ban worldwide.

Evening men, At 11:31am on the 27/8/2009 my partner gave birth by c-section to a 6 week premature baby boy who will be called Adam,Sean Rose, who weighed 6 pounds. Both mother and son are fine and have done me proud Big Grin
I wonder if he will be a Tiger in his later years

Born at 11.31 and you're still able to type at 23.53!

Many congrats to you both on the arrival of the little tiger!

And I am sure he will make good progress. (As it happens, I was born six weeks early way back in 1963, and I weighed 6lbs 1/2oz, and look at me now ... a strapping lad!)

As it was a C-section, YOU'll be doing all the work! Have fun.

I was only still able to type because of antibiotics that i am on do not mix with ale, but i did a bit of research on them last night and have stopped taking them as i have got to go the dentists anyway on tuesday. So by dinnertime on sunday [according to the research]they will be out of my system and i will be out of my head

Being a South African living in NZ (who is more interested in football) i'm probably in an unusual position to participate in this thread but I must say i'm stoked that the Boks are so strong right now.

The kiwi's are whinge-ing that the Bok game is all aerial ping pong but I think that's a little unfair and that they could run it if they needed to - they just haven't really had to yet in this Tri Nations. Plus I couldn't help but notice that both the AB's and the WB's indulged in a fair bit of kicking and penalty swapping last weekend...

I think the Boks have been a bit lucky lately....winning the world cup, beating the Lions and looking as though they will walk the Tri Nations. Winker
