Cleaning the front of those olive boxes

Posted by: Brucie on 24 October 2003

Some of my older olive boxes look quite dirty when the light ctaches them. What do people use to clean them effectively? Just a damp cloth and then a quick buff?

sorry to ask such a dull question

Cheers

Hi Bruce,

I'm using Foam cleanser 30 from SERVISOL.

I got it at a local Tandy electronics/DIY store, for about 10 years ago, and the spraycan is still not empty!

You spray a few small blobs of foam on the surface.
Then wait for about 20-30 seconds, and wipe the surface clean with a dry cloth.

It works perfectly and also makes things anti-static.

regards,

To get the dust from the edges and buttons etc I use a 1" paint brush... not wet, of course!
I also use this to get rid of dust from the Cd drawer tray (can't claim credit for this - my dealer suggested it)...

A paint brush is too hard. I use my wife`s cosmetics brush.

Silly question probably, but what in god's name is a swiffer?

The Swiffer is an antistatic mop with disposable "cloth" covers. The endless reign of terror by Proctor & Gamble via TV advertising has resulted in it (P&G) being repeatedly voted most irritating company in the universe. Try browsing for the name <swiffer> if you have a strong stomach and any degree of protective cynicism left. If you remember the torment of the Shake 'n Vac adverts you'll get my drift. Mad

Thanks for the warning Nime. I'll avoid it like the plague.
