New electricity meter

Posted by: gavreid on 15 August 2003

I had my electricity meter replaced by the company yesterday and what a shock I was in for. After an hour or so to warm up again my system [cd5, fcII, 32.5, Hi, 250] was dramatically improved more musical and deeper more tuneful bass. The improvement was at least as big as the 10mm^2 separate spurs. The 'new' meter was a 15 year old unit replacing an even older one. Does anyone have a similar experience? Could it simply be remaking the 100A electrical contacts on clean copper at the meter rather than the meter itself, after all they had been untouched for 20 years? If so, there's a cheap upgrade for you all...

There should be a way I can get the power company to disconnect and reconnect the power meter at least once a month! Wink

Surprisingly, my system sounded worse after our analogue meter was replaced by a digital one.

Hello All,

I detected slightly more air around the instruments after my Gas Meter was replaced, but I could be imagining it.
