Carvin Jones

Anyone know anything about him? I have been informed by a friend that he is playing at a local pub (not the PoW!) this week-end. We hope to confirm this later (Malcolm is to visit the pub in question on his way home, purely for research purposes of course).
I have checked out his web-site and his pedigree seems pretty impressive.

CARVIN JONES ROARS INTO SURREY
American guitar slinger Carvin Jones plays his first UK dates for 18 months with an appearance at the Rose & Thistle Public House, Frimley Green, near Camberley, on Friday 13th of June.
One of the world's great showmen - Carvin sometimes climaxes a show by playing a guitar in each hand - The Phoenix thunderbolt has joined the "All Time 50 Guitar Greats", as polled in Guitarist magazine.
Eric Clapton called Carvin "The next big thing on the blues circuit", while Buddy Guy said of Carvin; "He plays so hard it hurts"
Promoting his "World Tour" album, which includes material recorded in the USA, Europe and Japan, Carvin's huge popularity is in part due to his stunning live shows and a rare ability to breath fresh life into the work of Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Freddy King and Carlos Santana.
It was while opening for Santana at the prestigious Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix, Arizona, that Carvin came to the attention of the West coast media.
Several high profile dates, including opening for Buddy Guy and Johnny Winter, led to Carvin becoming a cult figure of the US college circuit.
Two huge UK and European tours followed, including select dates with Jimmy Vaughan, Jack Bruce, Double Trouble and Ten Years After.
"The festival circuit in Europe has been incredible for us", confirms Carvin, "But really the UK was where it all started for me, and I'm glad to be able to meet up with my British fans again"
If you never saw Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carvin offers a unique take on the late lamented guitar Gods. But its doubtful even they would have considered bunny hopping on top of their guitar, or playing their axe while upside down on the stage, let alone playing two guitars at once in either hand.
In short Carvin Jones is a special, unique rock-blues guitar talent. Don't miss him. Special guests are To The Bridge, who open the show at 8.30pm, wwith Carvin on stage from 9.45-11.30. As it is a public house entry is free, although I will be asking for a donation, which will be gratefully received!!!!!!!!
The other dates can be found on his web-site (click on link in first post), the 13th is TBA on the web-site.
I've never heard of him but you can see why I'm keen to see him.
