Mitch Mitchell- RIP

Mitch Mitchell, drummer for Jimi Hendrix, passed away last night in Portland Oregon at age 62. I expect he will be jamming with Jimi and Noel Redding in heaven.

This is sad.
What a great musician, with an instantly identifiable way of playing; one of the best drummers ever.
And crucial to the sound of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. With all due respect, Noel Redding was fine but the position could have been filled by any decent bassist. But without Mitch it just wouldn't have been the Experience. He really was the Jimi Hendrix of drums!
All best,
Fred

"Up from the Skies" . . . . . first time ever, hearing brushes. So tasteful, and beautifully done. Thought to myself . . . . . . a rock drummer playing brushes?!?
Who is this guy !!! Soon found out what a major force he turned out to be.
Can hear the major influence Max Roach had on his playing.
Sad News!
RIP Mitch Mitchell. Thank you for your inspiration, and the wonderful legacy you leave behind!

What a sad bit of news. He was an astonsishing musician. All three of them gone. RIP.
Fred
As I recall, Noel Redding was actually a guitarist whom Chas Chandler persuaded to play bass in the Experience.

Sorry to say that a see another slice of my youth goin' away.
Piece by piece my life are passing in the hourglass as these people is giving the gift back.
But i feel lucky that catholics did not kill all the dissenters and i can keep a good memory of the trio on solid support.
Lets' play some stuff
