CD5 and CDR's

Posted by: Den on 19 July 2001

I'm considering buying a CD5 to replace my NADC541. Rest of my system: Nait5, FlatcapII, great Scanspeak home build speakers. With NAD I have experienced big problems whith CDR's (with the NADC540, not with the C541). I am wondering if anybody can tell me if the CD5 has any problems reading home burned cd's (CDR's)? smile

Den,
Have only tried playing CDR's at a demo ( am about to place my order today..!) and on both CD5 and CDX, there was no problem at all - however, both showed up the limitation's of disc's burned on my PC.....
Good luck,

Steve

I have a CDI and it plays CDR's, but like said before, you really hear the difference between the original and the copy. Some copies I have listened to are almost unlistenable!

My CD5 has no problem playing CDR´s (so far). I´ve had a couple of "normal" discs that didn´t play on it, but i fixed that with the "tape trick".
