If you don't know them yet, download Barely Losing & I'll bet you'll buy the album.
Great band.

Rasher they are fab! Post to Wire is one of my favourite purchases this year. Have you tried The Fitzgerald....? What do you think?

I've ordered it and I'm waiting. These guys...I dunno...it's like discovering Dylan, Neil Young and Ry Cooder all rolled into one for the first time. Sometimes I just can't believe music can be this powerful. I've been listening to them and they've just brought my working day to a standstill, like I want to crawl into a corner and disappear for a few hours to just absorb it. That took you 6 minutes Anna! That must be some kind of a record.

I have Post to Wire, and whilst I think It's good, It's not great. e.g. I doesn't grip me anything like as much as one of my favourites last year from a similar genre Willard Grant Conspiracy - Regard the End, or in fact this year's Bright Eyes.

Greey-I'm with you, good enough but Regard the End is brilliant, one of my all time favourite albums. I'd nominate Wilco: A Ghost is Born as another for those who like Richmond Fontaine.
BTW which Bright Eyes? I heard a sample of one track that sounded dreadful-although I'v forgotten what it was called.

The Bright Eyes album is "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" and it's excellent.
He did also release another album on the same day, something about "Digital Ash in Digital world" which by all accounts is more electronic, it did still get pretty good reviews though if I remember correctly.

Sorry guys, but I've been playing Post To Wire twice a day or more for the past week now, and I think I've died and gone to heaven.
Anna - The Fitzgerald STILL hasn't dropped onto my doormat yet. I might be there when I go home. Great to think that there is still more to come, but I'm kicking myself for not seeing them when they played here in Brighton last month.

Hello folks. I cannot stress this strongly enough:
THE FITZGERALD IS AN UTTERLY BRILLIANT ALBUM
My experience with it was that it seemed on first impression to be a bit too sparse and simple and almost a little flat. However, my instincts told me there was something going on within it and that notion would not go away. So I bought it and went on my way. The more you listen the more you hear. It is a dark and beautiful album.
It would have to be considered for best album of 2005.
If you ignore it consider it a loss.
Post To Wire is also a marvellous album.
Phew ! Glad I got that off my chest but I knew I had to do something valuable for society today.

Cheers
Norman

I've now got The Fitzgerald and I've played it a couple of times, but I just haven't finished with Post To Wire. I can't get over what a fantastic album it is, and it continues to get better & better, which seems impossible.
I'll get to The Fitzgerald properly very soon.
This is heaven.
