Anyone seen the new Dylan box set out next month - his first 8 albums in a mono box set £71.

Any thoughts on this, I quite fancy it but with hi res slowly emerging buying expensive box sets could prove a faux pas?

It looks really nice Gary ... It should sound great on my CDS2/XPS, which I still think is a great CDP.

Whether or not I can justify £71 I don't know ... I've just ordered the new 6CD Grateful Dead box set!

The CDS2 is a great cd player - I loved mine and worth investing in high line / later burndy in my experience.

£71 is expensive, maybe the price will drop over time...

Any news on the quality of the vinyl pressings? Will those bought in, say, London be the same as those bought in New York?

It would be great if, for example, we heard that they were all being pressed in Japan.

Sorry Gary ... I should have identified myself more clearly. Perhaps you were unaware that I bought your CDs2/XPS, hence my original comment that it is working great! (LOL)

BTW ... Do you have a DAC yet?

This is a must-buy. Hope they don't screw up the mastering; something along the lines of The Beatles mono set would be very welcome.

Indeed, the Beatles' mono set - so much better than the stereo - was exactly what I had in mind when I asked above about the remastering/pressing of the vinyl set.

Can anyone shed any light on this, either for the LPs or the CDs (as I may end up with both!)?

Hi Simon, all becomes clear....Glad your are enjoying the cds2 - it really is a good player and I do miss it. The uniti does a sterling job but nothing like my top olive system - no ndac yet,I am hoping the ndx is the solution for me - time will tell....

Thanks again for those Beatles mono cd's and stay in touch, always eager to hear good music recommendations and we did have similar tastes.

Anybody heard it now and can comment on the sound quality?

I have heard it. It sounds pretty good and brings different things out in the mix. Whether it is worth the asking price is another question. There are no bonus tracks ... Just the original album format.

I'll probably wait until cheaper copies come up.

Really like what I've listened to so far.
