HiFace BNC or RCA?

So why should I go for HiFace BNC with expensive DC1 if this will not give me a top-quality digital bitstream? I have already ordered one DC1 for my TP-->DAC setup. Why buy the second? Instead I can use Hiface RCA with my Klotz coax RCA (not a bad coax BTW) to watch DVDs through the Naim DAC.

What do you say, js? Can you here a difference between HiFaceBNC/DC1 and HiFaceRCA/RegularCoax through the Naim DAC?

Seems reasonable to have just the one for the music portion if you already like the other for vid. I can hear the difference in DIG cables and BNC vs RCA. If I were you, I'd get a bnc adapter for a quid and try the DC1 there to find out if it matters enough with that source.

Well maybe not mine and of coarse, I'd use a proxy.

I have recollected the shards of diligence and run the "RCA coax vs Tosslink" contest .
Tosslink is Van Den Hul Optocoupler and RCA coax is Klotz Reference.
Both are < 100 $ staff (I bought both long ago and forgot the actual price).
The difference is very marginal. RCA coax is a bit cleaner and transients are better including bass. It's very audible on high quality tracks with low scale music -- like jazz trio, guitar.
But it's also easy to pick up the difference on the background of mellow songs -- I clearly hear it on Boz Scaggs.
The difference is not clearly pronounced on aggressive rock or complex orchestral passages.
I also failed to track a difference in voices.
Anyway it was a good session -- I'm fully convinced to change for BNC coax route both for TP and PC.

If DC1 will not 'play back' my investments I shall consider it as charity to Naim which we all love anyway
