I thought about doing this to my nait 2, way back when. But, it would have been a lot of work, and probably not worth the effort.
It's too bad really, because the nait 2 is the favorate integrated of many on this forum, but it cannot really be improved. It's pretty good on its own.

The installation of the NAIT2 pre-amplifier conversion kit disables the amplifier section and uses the internal power supply for the pre-amplifier section only*. The external DIN connects signal +ve, -ve and ground and is not intended for 24VDC in.
The mod is reversible, however, money would be better spent on a pre-amplifier upgrade if one is looking for a musical performance gain rather than just the ability to drive more difficult speakers to higher levels in larger rooms.
The NAITs perform well because they are well balanced, integrated designs.

*It is possible to leave the amplifier section in circuit but this is not, to my knowledge, the approved method.
