Missing tracks and artwork on Mac. Weird.

As some of you may know I have recently changed my system source from: iMac>SB3>CA DACMagic to Mac Mini (Fed music by 500Gb G-Drive)>Transporter. The iMac is still in use but not for major music duties. All the music has been ripped Apple Losslessly to the Mac Mini. I have changed the Transporter display to now show the track no. and title as I have been aware of missing tracks. Despite deleting all relevant folders and reinstalling SqueezeServer, the Transporter did not pick up all the tracks. I noticed that a lot of the missing tracks were on albums where I had manually got the artwork via a Google search. At the time I did notice that this artwork did not always completely fill the 'Now Playing/Selected Item', having a black border around it instead.

I deleted this artwork and dragged in an image from Amazon (filled the box this time) and restarted the Mac and rescanned the library with the Transporter. It went from 10,257 tracks to 11,204 tracks after I had done the entire library (yes, this took a long time). I'm not sure why this should be but having used a Mac for a number of years I know they can be a bit quirky.

I still come across a few missing tracks (displaying the track no. is essential for this) and the fix with the artwork sorts it.

If anyone wants full details of how to delete the artwork etc then I am willing to go into detail.

Might be useful to someone. Oh, and the Transporter is superb!

This is probably not related to your problem Neil, but I had an issue with 'missing' entries in my alphabetical list of artistes on iTunes, and learned the trick of unticking 'Part of a Compilation' in track info. Simply right click on a track and select 'Get Info' to display.
