Excellent performance which captures the hazy glory of the music.

In addition to Monteux, Boulez is also quite good, and decidedly different and cool. (I prefer the CBS recording, but the DG is good too.)

Thanks for suggestions. I'll keep a look out for Monteux, though at the moment it seems to be a bit of a collector's piece at collector's piece prices...! (Either format.)
