I've not long got back from Silverstone where I was watching the F1 qualification with my eight year old son.
What a performance from young Mr Hamilton to snatch pole in the last few seconds after being down in fourth spot.
Let's see if he can win tomorrow. That would be another fantastic achievement to add to the many he already has this season.
And even the weather held out today as my stinging neck and shoulders will testify this evening.
Come on Lewis!

I watched the qualifying session on television. Hamilton didn't look like being able to pull a pole position time out of the hat - until he did right at the last minute! And the only driver to go under 1.20 seconds.
The ability he shows to squeeze just a bit more out of a lap time just when he needs it is what makes champions.

I know Deane, I didn't think he was going to do it and was prepared for the disappointment. But the crowd reaction when he did just shows the excitement this young guy has stirred up all of a sudden over here.
He's good.

I hope he gets his raise soon!
His 300 grand a year seems silly when Ralf Shumacher is making 17 million.

I think you can rest assured he won't be on that for long!

Oh well. Just got back and it was a fantastic day, the anticipation of a Hamilton win was so thick in the air you had to wipe it off your glasses!
The Ferraris were just faster all day and I think if Massa had started in his proper grid position Hamilton might have been relegated to fourth place.
Still, on the bright side, a ninth podium finish out of nine is an incredible statistic and he still leads the championship by twelve points.

I think Ralf Schumacher should give up Formula One and run for Governor of California....
