What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

In the car: The Engineers eponymous album. Borrowed from a friend. Rather wishy washy. (Album not friend).
At home: Clem Snide 'The End Of Love'. Excellent alt.country.
iPod last night when unable to sleep (!) Arvo Part: Alina.

Working my way through Keith Jarretts "Sun Bear concerts", a 6 CD set from 1976 - not always a pleasure, documenting KJ's mood and ability to invent something new every evening - which works extremely well in "Tokyo", and less good in other locations.
Oh, and Tam: Thanks for kicking off this thread. It may become very informative !!!
cheers

Soundtrack from Get Carter - just rediscovered whilst cataloguing my CDs (1370 done, another 300 to go).
Great stuff - Roy Budd's finest and interspersed with great dialogue from the film, Michael Caine was never better.

Later its going to "Ryukyu Underworld" which is virtually impossible to find on CD. Japanese Electonica/DnB.. Snows in Okinawa superb mix of acoustic guitar and electronica. Even the 192mp3s sound good am stil trying to track down the actual CD..

The Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
Just received this. I bought it on the strength of "Everlong" and I love it. Grohl's drumming is quite impressive, I think. Also, being the boss he can make sure it's not buried in the mix. I was surprised how old this album is (1997).
