What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Heard some of the samples, it sounds grand. He just seems to get better with age. What do you think?

I am impressed that your local library stocks music like this and the Lars Danielsson disc.

I started falling out of love with Charles Lloyd when I went to see him a few years ago at the Blue Note in New York. With Geri Allen and John Abercrombie it should have been a corker, however it was so unengaging that I left early for the comforts of the hotel.
The last two CD's, Sangam and Jumping the Creek left me rather cold as well. So I hope that this can stop the rot.

I have been in a Knopfler mood recently. Bumped into this in the local record store today so I thought I would give brother Knopfler a try.
I am surprised at just how good this album is. Full of excellent musicianship, good tunes. He certainly has a lot of his brother's talent.

Over the last few days I've been mainly listening to the sounds coming from this:
The head is full of ideas after a long layoff, but the fingers need some catching up!

MilesSmiles,
Had a listen to this on MySpace. Sounds pretty good. Where did you buy it?
Cheers
