What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

I love his thread - Naim users have such a wonderful tatse in music. So often you guys remind me of forgotten CDs I go and hunt out. Mind you, too often you cost me money as I go out and buy! Smile

Not sure whether this should go here, on the DVD thread, or elsewhere, but never mind. Have just been to the Cinema to watch a live relay, in very impressive HD (sound good but less impressive), of Britten's Peter Grimes from the Metropolitan Opera in New York. The trip was something of whim, but since Donald Runnicles was conducting I couldn't really pass up.

However, the price tag (£25) means I'll not be back in a hurry. A shame, as it was a good experience, but I struggle to see how they can justify the cost.

It was also live on Radio 3, though in this case, despite what the US press has been saying, seeing as well as hearing added to the experience.

regards, Tam

was at hifi event yesterday, and that guy asked this CD to be played. After the beautiful presentation (on a full Quad system for the hifi nuts), I asked him, what it was, and realized that I had bought the disc, some time ago. So, here we are...

Still really enjoy this band. Having seen them live, listening to the records get me straight back into the mood they created on stage.
