What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Bob Dylan Oh Mercy, apart from the man in dark apparel, it's really a great album

Although my copy is 77-82, don't think I've missed much

Unfairly slated at the time because it wasn't Doolittle but this is a great album.

Not one of his best, but great to hear Pills and Soap and Shipbuilding again. Always preferred what was side 2

In the car tonight. Disappointing. Better title could have been 'Tumbling'.

Huw,

I always have a lot of static noise with my DG Lps. What do you do to eliminate it?

Regards,

Haim

Very enjoyable music and a wonderful recording: Foo Foo & The Boy's H2C

Are they going to do some more albums?

It's never been a problem. I washed the Rostropovich discs before playing and can't believe how quiet they are.

Now is Sarah Vaughan on Emarcy - oh that Clifford Brown

Interesting recording; more like a piano concerto
