What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Some of the members of this Forum who have doubted my taste in music, may be surprised to know I'm listening to this! (And have an extensive library of frequently-listened-to liturgical music...)

Keys to Talk By / Dusan Bogdanovic / MA Recordings M019A

A contemporary masterpiece by Yugoslavian guitarist and composer Dusan, this recording features two suites for 2 guitars and percussion. "Byzantine Theme and Variations" and "Trio," the second being mostly for 2 prepared guitars and metalic percussion, primarily gongs from various asian cultures. The album ends with Dusan's 5 "Polymetric Studies" for solo guitar which are both exquisite and extremely difficult to play. Needless to say, Dusan displays his incomparable technique. Participating are Miroslav Tadic (gtr) and Mark Nauseef (perc).
