What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Harvest Storm by Altan (again)
Can anybody tell me: are all their albums this good or is this the stand out one?
This is absolutely superb music, well recorded and exceptionally well played.
Certainly Island Angel is wonderful

This is Christy Moore's best album IMHO.
"Back Home In Derry", "Ride On," "City of Chicago, " "Lisdoonvarna, " and "Among the Wicklow Hills." are stand out tracks on this very good elpee.

Hi Stefan!
Those are the best concert ever.
I saw The NotWist and Lali Puna and there about 100 wild guys and girls screaming.
Beautiful evening!

Elgar Enigma variations - Eugen Jochum & the LSO on DG vinyl. I couldn't find it on amazon to get a picture so maybe it is not available anymore. Dunno of this performance will get the nod from the 'kenners here but I like it
, it's nice and light.

Vinyl Version. I am still stuck on this album.
'Miso Horny' is highly recommended.

It sounds great on the LP12/W5000.

I like the version of 'Also sprach Zarathustra' used in the film 'Being there'. What other Deodata do you recommend?

This record was a revelation in 1969, my freshman year in college.

Yes!
I have the cd and it sounds a bit harsh on highs!

Can't decide to move this CD from the "recently purchased" to the "to be filed" stack. It's too good...
