What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Thanks, Stefan.
I will keep those names for next time.

Claudio Arrau playing Schumann's Arabeske in C, OP. 20 & Faschingsschwank Aus Wein, OP. 26 on a Phillips LP. Magnificent.

As regards the Bill Evans mentioned above - I'd go further, a must for everyone. This is one of the finest (and my favourite) live jazz sessions of all time.
Dear pe-zulu,
As far as the Hewitt Bach I shall probably start a thread on her in a few days time (as I have also just picked up her Goldbergs), but I want to have another listen to the concertos before I post any more detailed thoughts on them.
regards, Tam

First chance to listen to it and it sounds very good, as expected from this superb group of musicians.

More really good Irish music from Dervish, not quite as appealing as Altan, but very enjoyable nonetheless.
