What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Been playing this all morning - lots of great music by one of my favourite composers. I have Cunning Little Vixen by Rattle in the cupboard, but the interpretation by Sir Charles Mackerras is much more enjoyable IMHO.

I am going to get some breakfast while you guys in Germany are taking snoozes. Stefan, you definitely need one. You are so tired that you keep wandering into uncharted topics (LP land).

Huw,
I think my 3.5's laser burnt holes on tracks 2 & 6 of my Una Sera Noche after playing them so many times. Perhaps that is where it lost its transport.

Janacek/Mackerras fans who are in the area should note that he is currently doing Macropulos at ENO to rave (musically at least) reviews. I am heading down for it on Friday. All is not lost if you don't make it as apparently they are taping it for Chandos's opera in English series.

Gianluigi,
What are you doing with all those Israelis?
Anyway, you are listening to only one part, a third to be exact, of the whole story (12 concerti Op. 8).

Haim

Nice to see you back
