What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Inspired by an arr. for two violas of the Bourrees I & II of Suite No. 3 performed last night by graduating students of my wife at the ex-jail house of Ft. Sheridan.

Dear Haim,

One of my favourite recordings. Possibly of interest, there is also a DVD version available (though, to be honest, I don't think it adds terribly much).

regards, Tam

Dear Tam,

Thanks but I am not much into DVDs. I watched recently the dance films that incorporated Yo Yo Ma playing the Bach Suites but I still enjoy more strictly listening to the music.

regards,

Haim

Gianluigi,

Also fantastic: A Pigeon and a Boy / Meir Shalev 2006

My brother gave it to me last week and I cannot put it down. I am afraid you will have to wait for a translation.

Dear Haim!
Don't get scared about the reviews you read on the site.
"I'm not a gun" albums are great and the references to techno and electronic are in them only marginal.
