What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

"Oral Fixation Vol2" Shakira. Not my normal fayre but I thought it was time to branch about a bit. She is a cracking looking girl too. I heard the single "Hips Don't Lie" and just thought it was really good. So far, I am impressed. Rick Rubin has Executive Producer credit and the sound is excellent.
Before this it was "30 Years of Rock&Roll" George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Great stuff.

The Who - Live at Leeds
Only the second time I've had a really proper listen this album since buying it last year and starting this thread in which I was more than a little unkind about it. However, this time round I'm very much enjoying it (especially the second disc which is a performance of Tommy).

The covers really do look a bit of a blur, but the music on Altan, Horse With A Heart, Harvest and Island Angel is first rate.

Dug this out and it is rather good - in some places like a superior Susie and the Banshees and other times approaching but not quite reaching the excellence of Martha and the Muffins - and it came out in the sixties way before either of thos groups.
