What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

You're welcome Haim!

I'm still thinking to get a TT but i'm still confused as i'd like to get a Supercap as well.
Not a matter of upgrade per se here.
Can we call it self gratification?

Anyway there's a lot of good vinyl that's only waiting to be chosen out there!

Keep well!

Rather than countdown from 500 I'm going to try to count up to just over 1000.

starting on row 16 (of 18) - cd's top to bottom - and going through all my cds one by one.

rather ironic title to start with.

Vivaldi - In furore, Laudate pueri e concerti sacri. Vol. 31 in this wonderful series on the French label naïve, even better because of the lovely singing of Sandrine Piau

Haim, don't get even near to this, or it'll pull you in like a magnet...

It's a small world. I thought I was the only one that does that. I go through all my records alphabetically. I know I'm sick, I can't help it. Regards, Larry

Beethoven Second Symphony. I love this, and it never seems to get a mention!

Philharmonia under Klemperer, and no it is not slow! What a strange myth that is. Klemperer was, at his height in the 1950s, one of the fastest of conductors, where the music calls for it!

Dear pe-zulu,

There is an interesting observation on Tam's Goldberg Thread for you. I wonder if you agree!

All the best from Fredrik

Dear Fredrik
Yes, I agree, and have written so already.

Home alone for the weekend. The wife is at the University of Iowa (poetry workshop), and the daughter back to college in Boston. That means plenty of music and volume climbing above 9 o'clock.

First non-classical album in over three weeks. Started with replaying track I, Ternura, three times.
