What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

I'm not familiar with that album - I have all the tracks you mention - I have Arnold Layne, See Emily Play and Apples and Oranges as 45 rpm singles - I bought them when I was at school. I also have a CD with those 3 singles on, but not the CD/LP you have above. Could you give me more details - I wonder if it is still available.

Many Thanks, Rotf

Are you guys picking out the best records from my collection and playing them? A superb FZ album - with those wonderful Gumbo Variations.

It would be so Nice

Thanks Fredrik

I've tracked it down - in the UK, this is only available as part of the box set Shine On which is on Amazon.co.uk at £238 so I'll think live without it. I have the Barrett tracks on it, which is my main interest - although I like later Floyd too (well up to the The Wall}, but not as much as Syd's music.

Best regards, Rotf

PS - if you like 60s music then I'd recommend Rubble

Ian Brown - Solarized
His best album in my view.

Vivaldi Four Seasons with the Academy of Ancient Music and Christopher Hogwood.

Eat a Peach - The Allman Brothers Band. Probably too sober to fully appreciate Mountain Jam, but One Way Out is rocking the house.

First time in 5 or 6 years I have played this one. I forgot how much I enjoyed it. Pleasant surprise.
