What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

While my usual state vehicle is in the shop I have an older car with a tape deck. I dug out a bag of old cassettes I had made years ago and whiling driving to meetings today listened to Joe Jackson-Look Sharp, The Clash-Black Market Clash, and an unlabeled live Joni Mitchell album. All on that glorious cassette tape format.

Last night..........the genius of Mr Tom Waits (inspired by Van the Man) before he started banging tea kettles for a living (and doing it very well, I may add)

Last night I'd had a week of recovery from an operation. Better now after a week, but I didn't want to see or hear anything about the middle east or those ####ing Republicans in the white house. About 5:30 I started with Steely Dan's Royal Scam, Then Paul Simon's Mother and Child Reunion, Joni Mitchell's Ladies of the Canyon then Hissing of Summer Lawns. And last but not least, Rickie Lee Jones' first album, self titled.
Ah, that was a good night of relaxing, well played and recorded music. Still couldn't sleep worth a damn tho.

Glenn, that sounds like a crackin night in to me
