What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Recently found my orignal vinyl copy in the hall cupboard at my mum's house. I must spin it tonight.

Dear Fred!
When home the first impression with the new cartridge was a kind of: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
But it's getting better and better.
Just sharpening and getting smooth expecially on high frequencies.
Gooooooooooood!

Let's get back to earth!
A fantastic live album!
There's a remastered version of this record on the market.
But i swear that even the old vinyl print is superb.
I was forgetting: warmly recommended!

Before plunging into the Padded Cell.
Gian, do you need anything from there? Probably not. Why spoil a perfect vacation?

Elgar First Symphony, Boult BBC SO live in RAH at a Prom Concert in 1976 - the cover CD of the Proms issue of the BBC Music Mag, as flagged up by me a fortnight ago. Not that actual disc, but an older issue from 1995, as it follows the Nutcracker Suite, also from a Prom, which I lsiten to when in a silly good mood!
Actually at this time of the night it is at a cramped level of quietness, and I broke the rule of not typing while lstening, because I am not feeling vaguley serious at the moment!
So much is straightening out, and the move next weekend to within a mile of work near Worcester is something to look forward to. Henrietta the Volvo may face the car park in the sky if things realy go well, but on the other hand she may just find a situation of semi-retirement!
Good night Dear Friends, from Fredrik
