What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

omfg !

Orchestre National de Jazz (oioioi...) and Franck Tortiller (vibes) play the songs of Led Zeppelin. Couldn't resist to pick this up today, and don't regret it, at all ! They don't leave one stone on top of another.

Adrian, if you're on a John Zorn quest, anyway, you might as well dip into this one...

Fresh respectless Jazz without cob webs.

great,
Stefan

Stefano Bollani - I Visionari

Bollani throws one disc after another onto the market, and no decline of quality to be noticed. The new ECM solo is next...

cheers

Currently listening to the "Pure Naim" free CD that plopped onto my doormat with Hi-Fi News this morning.

Outstanding.

The opening bars to Question and Answer - Reuben Hoch and Time is gently teasing its way around the lounge right now. The rest of the room is pitch black with just the computer screen providing light. Lovely.

Hi Gianluigi,

You MUST listen to this album!

I'm sure you'll find it on Amazon or Play.com.

Moon In June is beautiful music IMHO!

Do you have any link for a vinyl edition?
Posted on: 21 August 2006 by costello
I'm sorry, searching Amazon.com, but only CD.

Maybe someone else might help you.

You have to buy a cdplayer, then ? Winker

Fredrik - if you get a chance listen to Moon In June from Tripple Echo, which is a version the Softs recorded specially for Top Gear - John Peel's original show on BBC Radio One (not the BBC2 car programme).

I like Third, nut my favourite Soft Machine album is Jet Propelled Photographs, which features Kevin Ayres and David Allen.

Gianluigi

You can find Soft Machine's Third here on vinyl, but best to check with them first before ordering.
