What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

When I was listening to him, I liked it. Wonder how you find him...

Re:Suggestions fro your long trip. I usually find it suitable to have music which is not too dynamic in the car. But then, I don't have a CDP in my current car (the UN prefers tapes...), so not a competent advisor...

Viktoria Mullova playing Vivaldi with one of my favourite bands

Posted on: 30 August 2006 by sjust
Feels at home, now. Huw listens to (the great) Viktoria Mullova, Haim to Leszek and Hille. Myself, I finally found the time to unpack the new Bollani (after FIVE days...), and it's - as expected.

Great.

cheers

Finishing up with "Duw a wyr," Lleuwen Steffan and Huw Warren. To quote Chris May's review on Allaboujazz, "Music born in the valleys but bound for Zion." I am sure many will be put off by the fact that whilst this is not just hymns it is sung in Welsh as well. Try not to be prejudiced, this is a wonderful disc.

Nos dda!

Hi,
iv'e got the vinyl and yes lovely pressing and perfect cover(condition).
The inner sleeves and poster are the biggest wind up ever and requires the up most patience to get them in and out of the main sleeve!

For this reason i wished i had purchased the cd. Smile

Stefan,

Is that reel-to-reel or one of the smaller machines?

I enjoy Leszek though I am sure some will find him a bit mechanical. Great if you tune up your car...

I am going to take a lot of jazz for the trip and some classical for morning driving. I am not sure I will be taking the wife with me. She had a medical procedure done two days ago and she is still not feeling her best.

If I drive by myself, it will involve some of my own singings (trying to keep awake), especially if I play MA's Buenos Aires Madrigals.

Regards,

Haim

Neo Disco Runway music.

It's fun!

Dance Diva from Chicago reminiscent of Maisa.
Incognito fans would dig this.

Its unlikely that you find it in a store now as the record label finished a few years ago.

Im sure there are a few new copies floating around on the internet.

Try: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B000007YTR/ref...0322-4655852?ie=UTF8

Scroll down to the 'new' section and there is one listed there. Funnily enough, its in the States Big Grin
