What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Whilst recognising that banjo and acoustic bass may not be everyone's cup of tea, I think you might be surprised.

Excellent Album. I love all of Bela's work.

Matt,

I was in Syracuse for the first time over the weekend, to visit a cousin at the university there. It is a nice school. That was on the way to taking my daughter to Wellesley College, MA.

I hope you enjoyed it. The weather is quite pleasant this time of year. Come back in January if you feel the need for some snow.

A Norwegian black metal/heavy metal album, Enslaved "Isa", which is quite melodious and even icludes some real singing instead of growling from time to time. A good album!

I have read that they love to do sportfishing, and that seem quite funny with their image.

If you wanna hear a wise Buster Williams on bass, Stefon Harris playing vibrant vibes, George Colligan on Piano and the glue between it all - Lenny White on drums, if you don't expect a superlative firework and "record of the year" kinda thang, but a nice, relaxing evening with mainstream Jazz, ripened like a good old bottle of red wine, listen to

Air "10 000HZ Legend". Some very nice songs, even if it does not reach the peaks of "Moon Safari".

Bought by myself at the tender age of 14, more than 30 years ago, and enjoyed ever since.
