What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

There are CD's that you listen to, and put back to the shelf, then there are those that leave something inside you. And there are the ones that are remarkable within a year.
is one of the third category.

Oramo and the CBSO in Sibelius 1, 3 and Finlandia (the last of which I don't think I've ever heard before, but I like it very much).

Haim - I hear it on my nait as well and in the car. Just cannot make out what it is. Let me know what you think. It does get on my nerves.
Adrian
Adrian,
After careful listening I reached the conclusion that the noise we hear, other than the piano, is of Manfred Eicher banging on the glass partition of the recording studio of Radio Svizzera, Lugano, begging Stefano to play more seriously.

Haim

What do you think of this one? One of the best so far this year in my books.

Adrian,
I agree - this is very special record. There is so much silence in this music. I used to listen this Cd at nigts. Sounds great.
I bought this cd after your recommendation in this tread. Thanks!
