What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

The new big thing in metal; Mastodon "Blood Mountain". Clever music.

Some throat singing from Mongolia. For a beginner it sounds strange Smile.

Mercan Dede "Su" (the Turkish word for water). It includes elements from sufi mysticism mixed with some more modern beats. Meditative and beautiful music.

Gian,

How is the Ford-ghini (since you did not want to get a Lambor)?

I had a warm Monday off and I spent it all in the yard. It seems like I cleared today a couple of savannahs, and just on time. The rain is coming.

SteveGa,

The Hubbard Street gang did an excellent job of dancing to the music taken from four different albums of Dead Can Dance.
I posted it also under 'the last concert'

Regards,

Haim

Perhaps you do not notice, being busy, doing your things. But the light is not the same, the colors have already changed and even the air is moving in a different way..

When you come in from the outside, you sit in front of your singing speakers, you discover out of the blue some delicacy, an extra layer, a new dimension in the familiar tune being played which you never noticed before.

You are listening to the music in the fall. This is the best upgrade I know.

Haim

Very, very well said, Haim !
And, in fact, I DID notice, myself. Even a last surprisingly warm and sunny wekkend couldn't hide the falling leaves, etc.

Turned on the woodfire, again, earlier this evening, and (after a Glen Moore solo album) listen to some

with great pleasure (and in prep of the concert soon to be enjoyed)

cheers

Stefan,

Stanko is in town again. I was planning to go and hear him last year with a friend but it fell through when my friend became very seriously sick (he is O.K. now).

Should I go this time?

Regards,

Haim
