What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Bishopla,
How did you find this album? All the joking and talking on stage were distracting me away from the music. I like much better their 'Uncommon Ritual'. Do you have it?

Morcheeba's ex front lady, Skye, has a debut album "Mind How You Go". Excellent it is too!

Hi Munch,
Skye's album is not available in the UK yet, I think it's released later this month, I got it from CD-wow. Skye's fine smooth voice is still wonderfully tuneful and the album is very well produced too.
Still a big Morcheeba fan too....

didn't "hit" me on first listen so I have it on osmotically in the background while book-keeping.

Warming up to Mozart violin concerto no. 5 with the Oslo PO and Previn on 27th of October with this top-notch performance.
Then, Beethoven symphonies no. 6 and no. 8 from this box set of Harnoncourt and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Sounds very good to me, even if I don't have too much to compare it to so far.
