What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Neil Young- Live at the Fillmore (Pre Release copy)
Keith Jarrett- Carnegie Hall
Albert Cummings (next SRV- possibly but probably not) however he certainly has the guitar tone and knows how to handle a Strat.
William Elliott Whitmore.
Lucinda Williams- Car Wheels deluxe

Swan lake - Ernest Ansermet with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande
Lucky enough to have found a mint copy of this performance on vinyl yesterday (and not the speakers corner reissue). Absolutely fantastic.

Thanks for that - I recently ordered that set but haven't had time to digest it yet.

Some more of Brendel's Beethoven sonatas (the op.26, 27 and 49/1).
Earlier it was Sibelius's 2nd symphony from Mackerras and the LSO.
A bit of break after yesterday's overdose of Messiaen (which included his amazing opera St Francois d'Assise).
regards, Tam

Haim,
A very laid back live performance from Stan, with excellent production. He just makes it seem so effortless.
I'm sure you already have it, but Bossas & Ballads - The Lost Sessions that came out in 2003 is definitely worthy of inclusion in any Getz collection.
Regards
