What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Shirley Collins (yes ROTF, I listened to you)..

First listening and not sure at the moment, but certainly different from the Floyd, Jill Scott and Beyonce that preceded it Roll Eyes

A real M&M album. Excellent. One of the best solo works I have.

Haim

Tried (almost desperately) to get this, but except some criminally expensive private sellers on amazon (US and CAN), it is sold out. Instead, I have been able to get my hands on recorder transcriptions of the Bach Cello suites, played by Marion Verbruggen. Next to be on the CCP...

But currently:

Also bought the Tharaud Chopin Valses and the Messiaen "Quartet for the end of time", waiting there for me...

No Roses, Shirly Collins and the Albion band.

This has been getting a bit of bad press around here lately. I like it and it impresses more with a few listens.

May be it's a "Celtic gene" thing.
