What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Finally, the order with three Jerry Bergonzi CD's arrived from the US (after 4 weeks - grrrrr), and I'm starting with

LiveGonzi (recorded live at the Duc Des Lombard Club in Paris - Hey, Edouard !!!!)
Quite good - excellent live capture, reminds me the Vanguard...

Later going on with

"Just Within" (Bergonzi, plus Drum and Organ - promising...)

and

"Tenor Of the Times" (His 2006 release with the quartet)

if unexpected things happen, I will report...

cheers
Stefan

Schubert's piano sonata D.959. Composed in the summer of 1828, two months before his death, this last sonata of his could also be his best.
Alain Planes is at the piano.

Bjork - Debut. It's been a long time since I've listened to it, and I've forgotten quite how good it is!

3 Great albums - especially Shazam

Cherry Blossom Clinic Revisited is a great track, bettered only by the single version of Fire Brigade ... and you've also got Blackberry Way on your collection: superb.
