What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Johnny Cash - Live at San Quentin (the Legacy Edition)
New songs, the set list in order and the Granada TV documentary. Excellent!

Hi Jono!
I love this and "New gold dream".
They are more genuine at my ears.
The first time i heard "Theme for great cities" i had a shiver.
The eighties are a goldmine of music!

A vinyl session - Hindemith violin concerto, recorded in 1959 onto 35mm. Sounds much more vital than the Decca CD with Oistrakh (which I love)

Dusty in Memphis - 4 Men With Beards pressing, much better than any of the CD versions the missus has

Johnny Cash - American Recording III, Solitary Man (side 1 only)

Bob Dylan - Desire, probably should have been credited as Bob and Emmylou Harris. Simply Vinyl pressing. Cleaner, quieter sound than the original snap, crackle and pop version that I have but doesn't go as deep. Still, a top notch pressing.

Waiting for a new layer of Fraim to see what lifting the Stageline and 'geddon off the floor does for things. Sounds quite good as it is, must say
