What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

dicuss,
Luz Destino (MA M039A) is Maria Ana Bobone's Fados presented in more of a Baroque style with the aid of a harpsichord, a guitar and a cello.
Just as good.
Regards,
Haim
Thanks Haim, just starting to feel the beauty of the Fado.

Brazilian Girls - Talk to La Bomb
Sabina Sciubba in her latest incarnation (2nd record). Actually quite stunning on a system that can resolve it!

Hey David,
Can my 3.5 handle it? You installed a new transport for my Skipnick this summer.

Munch
I get bored easily and have changed my profile in a couple of ways. I do wish I had a camper van to trek around (have to be a cool Vdub). Realistically though I'd need one of those massive Motor homes the size of Wales to keep me in the lap of luxury.
No I haven't moved I just like the sound of some place names that tickle my fancy and it keeps me mildly amused.
I'll send you my mobile address if you have any free cd's. I'll send you my amazon list if you want
Take care

Especially if you have to look at it while going through all three discs...
How is the Harnocourt's performance?
I have it with Collegium Vocale conducted by Herrewghe on Harmonia Mundi which I find excellent. The cover image is much easier on the eye too.

Haim

I love it! Fabulous cast, fabulous recording; a very unique and inspired way of doing things. I sometimes find NH misses the wood for the trees - eg his Bruckner - but not here. It's a very profound, joined-up reading, and the one I will put on and listen to in future.
