What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Nirvana - the superb UK group of the 60s Patrick Campbell-Lyons from Ireland and Alex Spyropoulos from Greece. Absolutely wonderful stuff and the only band bearing the name Nirvana that I enjoy listening to.

I've certainly heard of them. What kind of music, is it rock or folk ?

Huw,
Good to hear from you. I still did not receive Alpha's Berriere, but I ordered another five from that label. 3 Bachs (One of them a C.P.E) and Cocset playing Boccherini and Vivaldi.

Hi Munch,
No plans, though we have some promising chamber music concerts (my favorites) in mid January and February.
How about You? Make sure that you and your family have a wonderful Chirstmass.

She Loves The Way They Love Her
Misty Roses
Smokey Day
Caroline Goodbye
Though You Are Far Away
Mary Won't You Warm My Bed
Her Song
I Can't Live Without You
Let Me Come Closer To You
Say You Don't Mind
Hadn't listen to this for a while and that's a real shame because it is great album from the man who sung She's Not There and on one of greatest records ever made Odessey and Oracle.

Stefan,
Actually I am wearing a large Mundi necklace..
Seriously, it was a year which was dominated by classical music for me, hence so many excellent recordings of Harmonia mundi.
I have seven Alphas on order, and I promise not to be so boring and post them as well.
I just went back 4 pages and checked my recent postings which are of: MA, Bridge, Sonora, Sony, NAIM, Alpha, and Hyperion.
It seems like I am supporting more than one label after all...
Stefan, I am sorry to report that after 5 listenings to the new Haden I am still not sure about the music (the recording is very fine). At least, you cannot blame me that I am not trying.
Best regards,
Haim
