What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

The complete Bach on 155 CD's. Definitely some gems, and a lot of mediocre stuff, in the box.
Less mediocre stuff, than you think.

After about 10-12 discs, so far, I agree with you, pe-zulu. The only clear disadvantage: It reduces the amount of posts in THIS thread... (no fancy piccies...)
Currently St. Matthew Passion
cheers

Hi to all,
To lovers of Luigi Boccherini's music I warmly recommend one of the finest recordings by Jordi Savall at Alia Vox called " Fandango, Sinfonie & La Musica Notturna di Madrid " ( I just now listened to this wonderful rendition ).
Enjoy!!

Been rotating, no pun intended, the vinyl collection in the living room, currently Les TĂȘtes BrulĂ©es
Has been Kathleen Ferrier (Bach & Handel arias); Guy Clark (Old No.1); Jesse Winchester (eponymous); Quartetto Italiano (Schubert 14) ...
A mixed batch - probably Blues for the Fisherman next

May I please take this opportunity too thank everyone who contributes to this thread. A fair number of my recent purchases (cd) have been based purely on seeing them in this thread and I have yet to be disappointed.
