What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

What tracks on are on that? I have It's All About (A Roundabout), Spooky Two (great album), Ceremony (dire IMO), You Broke My Heart, So I Busted Your Jaw (has it's moments: Self Seeking Man is tremendous) and Witness (not my favourite).

Spooky Two though was great - Evil Woman, Better by You Better Than Me, That Was Only Yesterday and Hangman Hang My Shell on a Tree - I must dig it out and play it.

I also have Art's Supernatural Fairy Tales: Spooky Tooth without Gary Wright and that's excellent too.

Thanks munch. I think the compilers agree with my thoughts; e.g nothing from Ceremony - a very good collection.

Haim, with the latest two you dive deep into European Jazz culture. Especially the latter (Nagel-Heyer label) is SO European. What do you think of Ignatzek ?

cheers
