What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Very late, but never too late for such a graet night music.

very, very good live Zoot. One I'm pleased I pulled the trigger on a few years ago; haven't seen it in record stores since. Is it now OOP?

Cristina Branco - Live; perfect for this stormy weather. Excellent, traditional fado

was Bach's Goldberg variations transcribed for string trio by Sitkovetsky, players are Mischa Maisky, Julian Rachlin and Imai Nobuko. Can't understand why this was so roundly slagged of in the Grauniad

Inspired by earlier posters "Ssssh/Cricklewood Green" on Mobile Fidelity gold CD. An excellent double album release.

I bought it a couple of years ago in Tower in Nashville. Amazon.com still list it, although Blue Note do not. LOoks like it is available as an import into the UK. See here . Steve

That's it - I have it on vinyl from way back. Unfortunately, I didn't buy the first two albums and, as Kraftwerk seems to disown its first three albums, I guess there is little chance we'll ever see CD re-masters.
