What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Hi Munch,

It is seventeen century Italian music, mostly strings and some voice.

Geoff,

Got the first album on the system now, she was great, but the sound from my telly is no match for the hi-fi Big Grin

I have to say that I love the fact that so many of you are so much better educated than am I. I'm really going to enjoy getting up to speed, so to speak, and like Mr Armstrong, I have all the time in the world. My heartfelt thanks to you all for your input.

Sandy Bull: Re-Inventions (Best Of The Vanguard Years)

Inspired by looking for stuff for Bruce.

This geeky looking guy was a genius with anything stringed in his hands, from the 20-minute raga guitar of Blend, through a blistering version of that bit from Carmina Burana on the banjo to an mildly-amped Stratocaster improv on Memphis Tennessee, ending up playing oud (via a quick bit of Guillaume de Machaut on banjo) on Carnival Jump.
