What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Just got my Nait 2 back from Salisbury and it sounds fantastic after the recap/service.

Treating myself to Thomas Dolby's excellent live cd The Sole Inhabitant. The Neat Motive 2s are still running in and enjoying the bass. Razz

Listening to a cd on the computer, though, not vinyl as usual.

Well this is not my favourite artist of all times and songs like "Just the way you are" make me think about how much credulous i was (i am?).
But this is a very good live vinyl i do gladly listen to sometimes

Dear Gian,

I have at the moment a 15 CDs order being cooked at JPC. Three of those are coming from Italy (EGEA label) so it will take a couple of weeks to process the order.
I am charged a flat fee of $15 for a shippment from Germany so I try to spread the charge on more than a few items.
I do not visit the Hi Fi Corner because I rather spend money on music and books and not on machines.
After the big JPC order we will be eating here only twice a week for a while, but it is O.K..We might even look better after that...

Regards,

Haim

Geoff,

I could listen to her 'smokey' voice everyday. Her Canadian CD (Alert) sounds very good too.

Now listening to entirely something different.

A hit of 1932.
An old mono recording on a CD at that. But somehow a CD555 is capturing the spirit of Noel Coward singing 'Mad dogs and Englishmen'.
It's lovely actually.

Haim,

Very interesting instrument and sound, nice singing as well. BTW The Barri Gotic area of Barcelona where this was recorded is a great place to stay, if you have not been. Very easy to rent apartments for the weekend, nice bars and great restaurants.
