What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Gianluigi,We have had a power cut here for the last few hours, no music when you want it is a bad thing .Like you i sold all my LPs ,25 years worth a whole life history gone in 1984 .i have spent 20 years getting them back on cd,not the same cant read the covers ,and they dont sound the same .The only good thing is the space they take up.The other down side is you cant get a lot of what i had on the black stuff on CD .Thats why i love the posts by ROTF he comes up with so many albums that i had once that i forgot about, and i have to go and find them again on cd ,most you cant get though so i am thinking i might get a LP12 again. Are you getting better though Gianluigi? Music tonight has been every Bowie album up to Station to Station.kind regards munch
Dear Munch.
Music is my lover since i was a child.
She changes her dress and voice everytime to keep the flame of passion high.
Music is my joy, my pride and my food.
Music is and always will be the inner meaning of too many days passed hiding from a loud world that shout rather than speak and only rarely listen.
I'm a jester and don't mind to be.
God, if there's one, gave me the gift and i keep it as the rarest gem and at the end of my days i guess i'll find some funny words to make my exit.
Only one thing just worries me: whom i'll leave all my precious records to?

Cheers!
Gianluigi

Gianluigi,
A superb philosophy for living - just what I'd expect from a civilised Italian, may of whom I had the pleasure of meeting during my times working in your amazing country.
As for dying, who cares? Anyone who is intersted can fight for my collection. I'll be listening to s different tune (or not, as the case may be).
Best wishes,
Ken

I'll buy a double bed burial.
One place for me and one for a selection of my very favourites.
Hope the neighbourhood will appreciate late night mixing!

Arrhythmia by the Antipop Consortium.
It's hip-hop, but different to most that I've heard and everything else i own. Inventive. Left-field. Often a touch contrived. Refreshing.

Cannonball from a while ago. Recorded live including Victor Feldman an english jazz piano virtuoso unfortunately not long lived.
New stuff. Interesting symphonic arrangements for jazz improvisations particularly by Joachim Kuhn on piano

More hiphop. This one's got a jazzy feel. It grooves along really very nicely; altogether very pleasant entertainment.

Interesting, Geoff, doesn't fit to my picture of the music you listen to, but I can wholeheartedly (?) agree with you on this one. Off mainstream, though inspiring and entertaining.
myself:

forgot how beautiful this was. Currently in re-discover mode. You know what I mean...
cheers
