What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Somthing old (ish)

Someting new (to me)

Something blue (never before released though recorded back in 1972 right after "Lady sings the blues") The tracks are mainly jazz standards like 'Solitude' & 'I can't get started with you' for example

Incognito Unplugged.

Cool breaks and beats in a lounge jazz feel.
Good picks by Giles Peterson.
I must have been a PMS 173 & Blk. mode today. Smile

Geoff i am not that keen on D Ross i was given some of her albums on the black stuff this week if you would like them you can have them they are like new one double album a 12 inch and a single album no charge. just P&P regards munch
Munch...great offer thanks. Actually I am not a Diana Ross fan either except for when she did "lady sings the blues" where she did a creditable attempt at Billie Holliday's style (though never possible for her to really be that good).
The Blue album is NOT pop singer Ross in action She is singing standards. That's why I bought it. It ain't great it is passable IMO, but her normal stuff does'nt attract me either.
So I will politely say NO to your very kind offer

Thanks and regards
Geoff

Good morning Munch!
I saw the movie centuries ago and don't remember quite a lot.
The soundtrack is good at my ears.
Half way between some shy electronic experimentation and genuine oriental wind.
I don't like the whole record but some pieces in it are quite amazing.
Cheers!
