What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

My goodness ! This is the new Queen of slowness ! This throne was formerly owned by beautiful Margo Timmins, but this is really the mastery of retardation. Always when you feel like letting your hand sink to beat the rhythm on your leg, they manage to fill in another few milliseconds before THEY do the rhythm.

Exceptional !

Just got these in the post today and can echo Stefan's comments and reiterate an earlier post where I stated that listen to Solveig was like drowning in the whipped cream on top of a particularly rich cup of hot chocolate.

Stefan, if you like Silver you will love Pixie Dust

After some Norwegian chilling, some Cuban warmth - Omar Sosa "Mulatos"

Tonight I'm listen to the 60s band with the subtle album covers July. This is a new Japenese pressing of their 1967 self titled album. If you like Syd Barrett and the Pretty Things (S.F.Sorrow) then this is alomng similar lines.

I have also found a Tintern Abbey CD with tracks on other than Vacuum Cleaner and Beeside. "Do What you Want" "How Do I Feel Today" "It's Just That the People Can't See" and "Naked Song". I'm not convinced it's genuine, but it comes from a reputable source.

DJ Timmy Regisford: One Night at the Shelter NYC
One of the great soul/house *turntablist*.
Definitely sounds better on my hifi than live, but it captures the spirit well.

Metallica "S&M"

Defines "awesome".

A steady 100dB is not nearly enough!
(9 o'clock on the '72)

They should have been invited to do the WOTW soundtrack!

It would have lifted safe Disney Children's Movee$ to terrifying! Eek

David Hughes - '50 Yards Of'.

I also really like his latest 'I Can Explain' - and was introduced to his music via 'This Other Eden'.
